Principal Nedria West

Dear Hays-Porter Parents/ Guardians, 

My name is Nedria West and I am the principal of Hays-Porter School. I would like to thank you for entrusting me with your children. I am a product of Cincinnati Public Schools, having graduated from Cincinnati Academy of Physical Education, also known as C.A.P.E. 

I’ve been in education for over twenty plus years. I began my career as a teacher at Millvale Elementary School in the Cincinnati Public School District. Later, I served as the assistant principal at Winton Montessori School and Westwood Elementary School before becoming the proud principal at Hays-Porter School, where I still currently preside.

I earned a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Cincinnati, as well as a master’s degree in elementary education from Xavier University. In addition, I received my credentials as a Turn-Around Specialist from the University of Virginia.

Over the years, I have mentored teachers and administrators to become successful principals throughout the district. I have facilitated professional development for teachers and administrators locally and in other districts within Ohio.

Under my leadership, Hays-Porter School has attained numerous awards for academic growth and increased student achievement.  I believe that all children can learn, but each child learns in different ways. However, creating and maintaining a positive atmosphere is one of the key ingredients to success. My motto is “Teamwork makes the dream work!”  I am a very visible and personable principal that makes sure I get to know every student by name. I am looking forward to serving you and your child this year and continuing to make a difference in the lives of children!
